Our surprise jaunt to Scotland - August 2012

We had an amazing time aboard the Kommandoren - a kind invitation from some friends brave enough to host us for 3 days. We arrived in Inverness for breakfast, and spent 3 days around the Caledonian Canal. Blessed with blue skies and sunshine, it was utterly magical. I could bore you witless with it. And will.
The upper cabin. Shipmate Ned and Able
                                              Seaman Sama.

Dolphins. Incredible!

I just have a thing about this view from a boat.

Some of our crew.

A tough life. We didn't really know what to do with it....

Hoisting the sail on Lochness. Not a whole load of wind,
                     but pretty amazing anyway.

Moored in Fort Augustus, this wasn't the pontoon from which Arabella fell into the canal, but very similar! Lovely swans, and a sense of how beautiful a boat she is.

 Urquart castle.

Crew. Ned became proficent at securing any loose ropes. This was not always convenient, especially when a fender was needed rather quickly!

Perched at the front of the wheelhouse, ready for orders.
