Arabella on her first day of school. The cardie is actually purple, but always looks blue in my pictures. She is enjoying it overall, and doing really well with all the adjustments. Clever little bear. She brought her book bag home the other day and said with a sigh, 'I'm going to do my work now Mummy'. 'Are you sure?' said I, 'you can just do some lego or play outside if you like'. 'No', she replied, 'I know its boring but it's my work so I'll just have to get on with it'. Ahh.
While I'm at it, you ought to be aware of this one. Arabella and I having picnic lunch in the garden. She patted the grass next to her and said 'Mummy, would you like a story?' 'Yes', I replied. 'Its about Jesus', she said. 'Oh yes, said I.
'Well, ' she said, 'there was a wedding, and there wasn't any wine, so Jesus told three people to get some water and he turned it into wine and there was enough for everyone and that's the end of the story. That's just all. Wasn't he a clever baby?!'
'Yes darling, very clever', I replied.
' Mummy, I don't think Ned could do that could he?'
Ok, I confess, we haven't quite moved beyond the Christmas story, and have avoided dealing with the whole Easter business. Aren't those assembly stories wonderful!
