As I mentioned, we hope that we may have found a home for the next couple of years; fingers crossed. Very lovely village, and these are pictures from what would be our doorstep; the river is the Tees, which forms the border between North Yorkshire and Durham. We would be on the Durham side of the bridge. Will let you all know when anything definite happens.
